8:00pm eastern time - Milton is making landfall near Sarasota as a Category 3 hurricane. Blinding sheets of rain on the north side of the circulation impacting the I-4 corridor and wind gusts that could approach or exceed 100mph. The storm surge threat in Tampa Bay and Cape Coral will increase overnight as the backside of the circulation comes on shore and winds switch out of the west and northwest. Going to be a long night.
