I guess at some point an earlier lock was installed in a late-produced musket 'body.' Quite normal I guess for late-war stage production or repair...

Unfortunately, my guess would be that you have a musket in which the barrel has been replaced by a barrel from a NJ contract Model 61 rifle musket, most likely a Savage or Trenton make or, conversely, a NJ gun in which the lockplate was swapped for a Muir.
