The Ye Olde Mitre is a Grade II listed public house at 1 Ely Court, Ely Place, Holborn, London EC1N 6SJ. [1] It is on the Campaign for Real Ale 's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. [2] Historic England documents indicate that the pub was built about 1773, and remodelled internally in the early 20th century. [1]

The Mitre is a small pub that dates back to the 1500s, so you get to experience a little bit of history with your tipple. The food was your typical pub fare (I recommend the toasted sandwiches). Definitely check it out if you want a nice little lunch while touring London!

The first time I tracked down Ye Olde Mitre – at the end of a ridiculous alley that could have been someone’s side passage if only it weren’t too narrow – I was charmed by its hidden-away magic. Hidden away through an alleyway in Ely Place, Ye Olde Mitre is a traditional 1547 pub serving real ales, craft beers and all the usuals. Reasonably priced, simple pub snacks are aplenty, and the historic building, hanging jugs and framed historic newspaper articles fill the rooms with character and ambience.
