The Witch-king did not arrive in Angmar until about III 1300 (in the Third Age), according the “Tale of Years.” That would have meant he had been a Nazgûl about 2500 years when the wars with Angmar began and over 3100 years when Arnor collapsed in III 1975.

Radagast was able to fight off the shade and take the weapon. Radagast then gives the blade to Gandalf as proof. Gandalf shows the Morgul-knife to the White Council and convinces them to attack Dol Guldur.
