Jan 17, 2025 · It actually works faster, I just had not noticed. I took the rest of the center punch... took it all apart and did the body and tip. After a minute, got it out, and just cleaning with a paper towel, the rust came off... Again, this is just surface rust. Oiled everything. Assembled. Now I have my center punch looking like new.

But how to get it to atomize ?

Oct 10, 2022 · I was thinking of mixing it with lanolin to use as a spray rust inhibitor. I've been using mineral spirits and lanolin, but the mineral spirits takes a long time to evaporate off the things I spray, and for some reason, it evaporates quickly from inside spray bottles. Not sure lanolin will dissolve in it.

Jun 7, 2014 · I have grizzly machines from the late 90's, so maybe their paint has changed, but I get a perfect match on my tools by blending aluminum paint with Hunter Green, a standard dark-green shade by RustOleum and others.

Apr 9, 2015 · Time to watch me stub my toe and learn as we go. I just purchased my first lathe a Logan 821 from an estate. Looks to have been setting for years, no rust to be found, lots of grease crud. Attached or some pictures before we loaded it.

Many of us use spray or brush on cutting fluids, manually applied, or mister units that spray a light mist of water based coolant and air onto the work. A lot of work is simply cut dry. Which is best?

Sep 15, 2016 · In a business endeavor in past years, we were having problems with chemicals attacking the anodizing on some lab equipment that we made. We used a clear urethane spray over the anodizing. I have a couple of plates that were scrapped out and wanted to strip the anodizing before machining.
