Ask the nice NHS dentist how much time he can allow for it and how long does he think it will last.

Nov 13, 2016 · Most teeth requiring root canal is because the filling is so large that it has damaged the nerve and hence a crown should be placed. In your case there is hardly any damage so using a drill to file away all the enamel (strongest part of the tooth) to accommodate the crown will be very detrimental.
