Apr 9, 2016 · I'm currently using a BJC/Belden 1694A digital coax cable with RCA on the source side and BNC on the DAC side. I guess it sounds OK, but I'm wonder what else is out there that may sound better. It's the only digital coax cable I've ever owned and I have no idea if other cables sound different/better.

Jul 14, 2009 · Again RCA can't be 75 and that is why it's easy to modulate it. Try a really good BNC to BNC cable like the Nirvana T2 and try and modulate that. Most of the best BNC outputs are differential so that should not be a issue.

Oct 11, 2013 · The reason for using BNC instead of regular RCA is that the sleeve / bushing which is crimped in a hexagon arond the cable will create to optimum connection to the shielding where the regular pigtails found in assembled RCA connector with hurt performance as supbar shielding and lower bandwith etc.

Jan 9, 2015 · Unfortunately a large percentage of the places that sell 75ohm cable with BNC and RCA use 50 ohm BNC connectors! Several years ago I bought samples from 10 different companies and only two actually had 75 ohm BNCs. One company that gets it right and has very good cables at reasonable cost is Blue Jeans Cables. Their 75 ohm BNC to RCA is superb.

If your TV has TOSLINK out, just go with that directly. Alternatively, if your TV has coax out, you can use the RCA input or get a RCA to BNC cable and use the BNC input.

S/PDIF (IEC-958) uses 75 ohm coaxial cable and RCA connectors. 75 ohm coaxial cable is inexpensive, because it is the same cable as used in video transmission (you can buy a video cable with RCA connectors to connect your S/PDIF equipment together).

Jul 22, 2010 · I have been using Chris Sommovigo (Illuminati, Stereovox, Stereolab) designed digital cables for years. I first hooked up the Hi-Face with a Stereovox XV2 using BNC at the Hi-face with the RCA adapter at the DAC. Earlier today, I had the RCA taken out of my Audio Note kit tube DAC and a Kings female 75 Ohm chassis mounted connector was installed.
