Named for the American Legion Post that once leased the land, Legion Lake Lodge is a quiet lakeside retreat, featuring cabins, casual dining, and limitless adventure. Legion Lake is located on the southern portion of the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway near Mt. Coolidge and Badger Hole.

There’s nothing fussy about eating at Legion Lake, but it is pretty breathtaking. We rebuilt the lodge from the ground up so that the restaurant now features some of the only Black Hills lakeside dining.

At the eastern edge of the Park, just a few miles from Iron Mountain Road, discover the historic State Game Lodge. Travel 10 minutes more to the west and stumble upon Legion Lake Lodge, but don't finish there.
