Feb 20, 2011 · Re: 300 win mag in a howa 1500 Either will work fine, but a 180 TSX or 210 VLD are not necessary for a 300 yd deer...in that example any bullet will do. If you like Barnes... the 165 TTSX, but a monolithic bullet isn't necessary for deer when a corelokt works just fine.

I took the green Hogue stock off my Howa .223 Varmint and put it on my .300 Blackout barrelled Vanguard. I'm ordering a Boyd's thumbhole for the Varmint.
