In the 2004 reimagined Battlestar Galactica, the fleet was regularly menaced by Cylon Raiders, which mounted strafing attacks on the human ships. The Cylon ships had a low level of sentience, which the show's creator Ron D. Moore likened to that of a horse. The menacing design was created by concept artist Eric Chu, who gave it echoes of the design for the Cylon Centurion.
