Stalking is a form of gender-based violence and is also crime. Legal definitions of stalking vary from state to state. In Massachusetts, there are laws that address stalking behavior and patterns and provide legal and civil recourse for victims.

Domestic violence includes a wide range of behaviors where one person is exerting power and control over a spouse, dating partner and/or adult family member regarding their choices, beliefs, and actions.
