Here is my epic fail Revell 1/48 B29. Whenever I feel my skills aren't improving I pull this hunk of crap out and look at it.

Oct 22, 2022 · I'm already conditioned, if not resigned, to ruin a kit or make a fine build of it, especially if the kit I'm building is a new vehicle. You can envision how a build would look like, and to do so is entirely up to your skill and years of experience.

Aug 7, 2014 · The kit was made with very poor and heavy balsa, and you had to cut out every single part yourself, including the bulkheads, wing ribs, formers, and the like. Now picture a 9 year with one of those razor blades chopping and imprecisely cutting everything out.

First, model kits were in their infancy at the time, and second, the mold is probably long since worn out. There are notable exceptions (e.g. Tamiya kits from the early 1970s generally are still pretty good and easy to build) but many of them reflect the era's limitations.

Sep 11, 2007 · I still think the Zvezda T-60 is up there for worse tank model kit in 1/35 scale followed by the Trumpeter M60A1/A3 kit. Lousy copy of the Tamiya kit with a copy of the Tamiya instructions. It even points out Tamiya part numbers to add to the hull that Trumpeter molded in place on the hull.
