Welcome to my interactive map of Hollow Knight that I assembled from hundreds of thousands of screenshots. It involved a lot of draw-over and correction, resulting in a very detailed map that is zoomable to gameplay-view. I started it in August 2017 and finished it in February 2023.

Current version is Forgotten Crossroads, showing only areas available before defeating False Knight. Versions with Infected variant and more are planned for later.

I calculated this by overlaying the current combined Forgotten Crossroads + Dirtmouth map (24,576 x 12,288) on the ingame map across the width and height. The result is 6 times as high and 5,5 times as wide, so around 147,456 wide and 67,584 high.

We’ll see how things are after I’ve finished Hallownest and seen the areas/size of Silksong. How big is the combined map? My initial estimation (based on Forgotten Crossroads) was initially 30,000 x 12,500.

Assemble the whole area based on the ingame map. Finalise each room. Connect rooms, correct room transitions (this was one of the longest parts). Fill out edges of the rooms (by adding shadows, rags, vines, etc) then add some extra flavour to it (floating crystal pieces, flying motes, fog/light effects etc). Connect to the world map.
