May 4, 2014 · The 938 is small and on the edge of cycle. I wouldn't even consider experimenting with a recoil spring. In the first year Sig went through 4 springs, getting it right. The Springfield EMP has a really strong spring. You lock it back and slip a plastic spacer on the guide locking the spring compressed. Real easy.

Oct 16, 2024 · This wasn't with a SIG & replacing the mags with a good mag solved the problem. Doesn't sound like your problem is the same. Unless SIG has a batch of out-of-spec mags, which, I guess, is possible. To echo a few other posts, SIG's customer service & warranty support has always been super. Your 938 will be fixed, or replaced, eventually.

May 20, 2019 · Sig is taking on liability they are crazy to assume....utterly insane. From my machine shop(s) will soon come a one piece, stronger, better finished (polished), to their measurements, guide rod. A Sig P938 with a defective guide rod is useless as an EDC given the uncertainties of "what will happen when you need it".

Feb 3, 2017 · I always carry my Sig P238, Cocked and locked with a round in the chamber. These Baby 1911's are very simple to carry loaded. This model and the Sig P938 have a Safe way to carry. First thing I do is rack the slide and leave it open. I place the thumb safety on and leave it on. I place a single .380 cartridge in the chamber and release the slide.

Aug 2, 2012 · Early 938's had feeding problems usually because of rough feed ramps, so Sig was recommending 124 gr. Once Sig polished the feed ramp on my first 938, it fed everything including DPX 90 gr and any 115gr I tried. I know have a newer 938 SAS which had one failure to extract in the first mag., no problems since.

Jan 1, 2016 · The 938 fills the niche of a super-small 9mm. But many examples have quite a few serious problems. If you have the time(and will) to troubleshoot and keep sending it back to Sig then maybe keep it. For the first year I had mine it must have been over 8 or 9 trips back to Sig. Seems good now however with the exception of the rod.

Aug 12, 2016 · Correct, P938's come ambi, but they are simple to convert to single sided if one wishes. The two parts needed are sold by SIG, a safety lever and hammer pivot pin for a P238 are used and are suprisingly inexpensive. The only vestige left is the upper rear corner safety cut out on the right grip.
