A lottery player tried their luck playing Powerball — and netted a big prize, the Georgia Lottery said. The lucky winner won $50,000 after matching four numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, Feb. 1, narrowly missing the estimated $88 million jackpot, according to the lottery.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, told officials he pulled up the Kentucky Lottery app before a doctor's appointment and wagered $5 on the Jackpot Spectacular Instant Play game. He won the $859,001.91 Mega Money Jackpot.
