The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for many in Maine ahead of a storm that will bring snow, sleet and freezing rain to the region on Thursday. The winter weather advisory will be in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday night for all of Cumberland,

The second of five storms that will slam the eastern half of the United States with snow and ice over a two week period is on the way – and this one has more snow than the first.

While it won't be a total bust, the chances of double-digit snow totals have vanished. With that, the National Weather Service has canceled the winter storm watch and replaced it with a winter weather advisory, signaling expected lower snow totals. Snow will continue to fall Saturday morning following overnight flurries, giving way to a dry and cold rest of the weekend.
