Italy's highest court is hearing an appeal by Amanda Knox against a slander conviction for falsely accusing a Congolese bar owner in the 2007 murder of her British flatmate.

Knox was appealing a 2024 conviction for falsely accusing her former boss of murdering her roommate, an assertion she made under aggressive police questioning

Amanda Knox, a former American exchange student, had been cleared of all other charges related to the death of her roommate in Italy 17 years ago.
