Source: Flyers moving Farabee, Frost in trade with Flames
It looks like Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost have played their last game with the Flyers. The team is sending both forwards to Calgary in a trade with the Flames, a source confirmed Thursday night to NBC Sports Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Flyers acquired forwards Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forwards Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost.
Frost and Farabee have been trade candidates for the Flyers for quite some time and now both players are heading to Calgary. Frost has appeared in 48 games this season, where he has 11 goals and 25 points. Farabee, on the other hand, has eight goals and 19 points in 49 contests.
Ron Francis, the general manager of the Seattle Kraken, has always loved Joel Farabee, going back to his final years as GM of the Carolina Hurricanes. So this rumor is not that surprising. Meanwhile,
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman speculates that the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers could be working on a trade.
Bobby Brink, Joel Farabee and Garnet Hathaway scored to help the Philadelphia Flyers build a three-goal lead and they held on to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Monday night. Scott Laughton had a goal and an assist to help the Flyers snap a two-game losing streak and win the opener of a home-and-home set.
Ilya Sorokin made 23 saves for his third shutout of the season, Marc Gatcomb scored his first NHL goal and the New York Islanders won their sixth straight game with a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Farabee scored a goal in Monday's 4-2 win over the Devils. Farabee has two goals and three assists over six contests since he was scratched for three games earlier in the month. It appears that stint in the press box helped get the 24-year-old's play back on track.
Farabee and Laughton will welcome guests ahead of the Flyers' annual Pride game on Tuesday. "It’s all about bringing people together and putting smiles on people’s faces," Farabee said.
PHILADELPHIA — It was an early-season storyline that stuck in John Tortorella’s craw. Desperately searching for chemistry among his forwards, the Flyers coach wasn’t just placing them in the proverbial blender, but it seemed as if he was actively attempting to use every combination mathematically possible.
PHILADELPHIA -- Scott Laughton had a goal and an assist for the Philadelphia Flyers, who hung on for a 4-2 win against the New Jersey Devils at Wells Fargo Center on Monday. It was the 30-year-old forward’s first game back after missing three because of personal reasons.
