During the Xbox Developer Direct January 2025, Koei Tecmo surprised-dropped Ninja Gaiden 2 Black for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass.

If you haven't already given this latest version of Ninja Gaiden 2 a go, you can purchase it from the Microsoft Store or download it on Xbox Game Pass. As for the fourth entry, it's targeting a Fall 2025 release and has apparently been in the pipeline for quite some time now.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black disappointed some fans due to it keeping Sigma's reduced enemy count. A talented fan has already fixed that with a mod that restores the original game's spawn rate. The mod also lets players improve the delimbing rate and deadliness of the Guillotine Throw.
