Desperately short of infantry, Kyiv is using aerial drones to pick off Russian infantry. It is slowing, but not stopping, the Russian advance.

Russian forces have intensified their assaults near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, deploying small groups in an attempt to encircle Ukrainian troops, Victor Trehubov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Khortytsia group of forces,

The Russians have been attacking Ukraine with 139 Shahed drones and decoy UAVs of various types since the evening of 7 February. Ukrainian air defence has managed to down 67 drones, while 71 disappeared from radar.

Kyiv was hit by a deadly Russian aerial strike, leaving three dead and five injured. As Russia intensifies its offensive, Ukraine relies on drones to counter the attacks. Drone warfare is reshaping the battlefield as both sides escalate their military strategies.
