A 74-year-old man is still waiting to be rescued after his truck was swallowed by a giant sinkhole near Tokyo four days ago.

The 74-year-old man’s truck was swallowed by the hole, now 40 metres across and still caving in, with corroded sewage pipes a possible cause.

Firefighters will now launch a full-scale effort to find the 74-year-old driver as soon as preparations are made.
