Elizabeth “Betsy” Cantwell is stepping down as the president of Utah State University — after she spent only a year and a half at the helm of the Logan school, which still is dogged by allegations of a toxic culture within its football program.

Utah State University President Elizabeth Cantwell announced Thursday she is leaving the school for a position at a university in Washington.

Washington State University's Board of Regents named a new president Thursday who will take over in April as the school's first female president.

It was reported this afternoon that Washington State University announced the newest President - Elizabeth Cantwell! Or, as some may call her, Betsy. Cantwell brings a refreshing background to WSU, heading north from Utah State (a future new friend),
