Lucid Gravity Becomes First Non-Tesla EV to Be Sold With NACS Charge Port
After delivering the first production vehicles to U.S. customers last month, the Lucid Gravity became the first non-Tesla electric vehicle to be sold with an NACS charge port. From January 31, it will gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network with no adapter necessary.
Lucid Gravity SUV’s 926-Volt Platform Allows For 400 kW Fast Charging
Underpinning the Gravity is a 926-volt architecture that allows it to charge at up to 400 kW while plugged into a suitable DC fast charger, if you can find one. Nonetheless, the new Lucid SUV can still charge at up to 225 kW when plugged into a Tesla V3 Supercharger.
Lucid Gravity has a unique rear motor to help maximize EV charging
The Gravity’s booster-equipped rear motor allows it to “charge seamlessly at up to 400 kW on 1000V charging equipment and at sustained speeds of up to 225 kW on 500V architecture fast chargers, including Tesla V3 Supercharger,” Emad Dlala, VP of Powertrain, said in a statement.
