Mock drafts will be all the rage for the next more than two months as teams like the Arizona Cardinals prepare for the 2025 NFL draft. NFL.com's Eric Edholm has a new first-round mock draft that comes after Senior Bowl week.

The Cardinals currently hold the 16th overall selection, but just five more projected picks afterwards (pending compensatory selections). 16 is a good spot to be in to land quality players but not elite ones. It’s also a solid spot to be in should Arizona opt to move up the board and secure their guy.

One year after making 12 selections in the NFL draft — more than any other team — the Arizona Cardinals have just five picks this year. They traded their sixth-rounder to Denver for Baron Browning at the deadline and previously sent their seventh-rounder to Carolina to acquire Robbie Anderson.

The Arizona Cardinals will be drafting dead in the center of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as they possess the No. 16 overall pick. There's plenty of directions they could go with it, but in his first mock of the season,

"Sweat will enter free agency with the flexibility to play in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense. He has ties to Arizona, where his former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon is running the show. Washington, New England, Tampa Bay and Tennessee could be on the radar, too."
