Niko Kovac takes over as Dortmund head coach
Niko Kovac has been appointed new head coach of Borussia Dortmund, CEO Lars Ricken confirmed the agreement following Dortmund's 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday. The 53-year-old Croatian will officially take charge on Sunday.

Kovac will not arrive alone at Dortmund. His coaching staff includes his brother Robert Kovac and Filip Tapalovic as assistants. The new coach's first challenge will be the match on February 8 against Stuttgart, where he will aim to start his tenure with a victory.
