Pete Alonso and the Toronto Blue Jays have been linked since the New York Mets appeared to move on from their homegrown talent.
The Blue Jays have whiffed on many top free agents such as Shohei Ohtani, Roki Sasaki and Corbin Burnes. They finally cashed in when they lured Santander to town. Getting Alonso to sign on the dotted line would prove that Toronto is serious about competing in 2025.
The latest rumour du jour came courtesy of the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, who said the Jays are the “most likely fit” for three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer. Heyman went as far to suggest that Scherzer could arrive as part of a package deal with former teammate Pete Alonso.
