Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was named an NBA All-Star for a sixth consecutive season on Thursday night, and along with Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Karl-Anthony Towns—was named an Eastern Conference starter.

Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle were named All-Star reserves last season, but Randle didn't participate because of his dislocated shoulder. Brunson should've been named a starter over Damian Lillard, but the fan votes swayed in the latter's favor.

So some like Alperen Sengun, Domantas Sabonis and Jaren Jackson might get reserve spots. But the real tough decision is measuring Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Anthony Davis against Victor Wembanyama. I’ll go with Durant and LeBron this time — and assume the other two will be in the game.

Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum has been named a starter for the Eastern Conference at the 2024 NBA All-Star Game

DALLAS — Jayson Tatum scored 24 points, Derrick White added 23, including Boston’s first 11 of the third quarter, and the Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 122-107 on Saturday night in the first meeting between the teams since the NBA Finals.

If there is any hopeful throwback to Knicks history it is that the last time the Knicks had two starters in the All-Star Game it was in 1975 when Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe made up the backcourt.

Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns were selected as All-Star starters on Thursday night, the first time either player has earned that honor.
