MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The issues are mounting at the 201 Poplar jail as the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office investigates the deaths of two more inmates, days apart from each other.

The deaths are at least the 73 death in custody since 2016, according to data maintained by ABC24, and mark the the third and fourth in one week.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference tonight, Friday, February 7 at 9:00 pm at the SCSO Training Academy, located at 993 Dovecrest Road, to discuss a recent death at the main jail at 201 Poplar.
