But all of those questionable hires will forgiven—not forgotten, just forgiven—if new headman Ben Johnson turns the Bears’ offense into a Detroit Lions-esque juggernaut. Bears fans don’t like the Green Bay Packers.

First, Johnson reiterated that this was the job he wanted. When the Bears hired their last four head coaches — Eberflus, Matt Nagy, John Fox, and Marc Trestman — they didn’t have any competition because no other team wanted them. Johnson had suitors, but Chicago was the job he wanted, which he reiterated throughout.

Johnson will officially be introduced as the Bears new head coach at a press conference at 11:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday. As for when Johnson will get to meet with his players, Chicago can begin their offseason program two weeks earlier than most of the other teams on April 7, as they're one of several teams that will have a new head coach in place.
