The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the capital district, well ahead of the 22 for the Aam Aadmi Party of Arvind Kejriwal, a fierce critic of Modi, Election Commission data showed.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally won control of the national capital for his party after more than two decades, a resounding victory that underlines a recovery in support since an unexpectedly poor showing in last year’s national elections.

MOFSL noted that the BJP win came despite no big local face. The Delhi victory will be seen as a decisive revival of Brand Modi, it said.
