UConn wasn’t exactly a favorite in Hockey East. The Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll projected the Huskies (22-11-4, 12-8-4 HEA) to finish as the eighth-best team in the conference, out of the eleven participating teams.

Nolan Renwick scored 11 minutes and two seconds into the second overtime to send Maine past Northeastern, 4-3, in the Hockey East Tournament semifinal.

Down 3-2 midway through the third period, Maine tied the game on Luke Antonacci’s second goal of the season, at 12:44 of the third. Scott won a faceoff in Northeastern’s zone back to Antonacci, whose shot deflected off Whitehead and into the net to tie the game.
