Sorry - no buss or train. If you have a limited time, or no chance to drive, stay in Johannesburg and go to the Apartheid Museum, the Mandela house in Soweto and Lilieslief Farm in the north of Johannesburg. You should get most of the same info - the capture site is interesting for the sculpture and its symbolism - but not essential

This site is quite a distance ouside Pietermaritzburg. Best is to Fly to Durban and drive from there.
