Just wondering how much of the house is available to view (seeing as it is being restored). Also, are they restored sections or original?

Hi if you book one of the tours you will see a lot more and learn about the history, Obviously it is in the process of restoration, but definitely worth a visit.
do you know if you have to book / join a tour , or can you visit rooms on your own without a tour. or if you have to book a tour , are you allowed "free time" to go around the house on your own after the tour has finished ? thanks pam
Is it free entry? I can’t find a price online except for tours.u

It’s by tour only and it’s not cheap! £20 a ticket unless you’re a member of the Nationals trust when it’s £10. But its worth it and you feel you’re doing your bit to being the house back to life. I don’t usually do tours but our guide was so knowledgeable it was completely worth it.
Do you have to book a tour? My father is 90 but tires very easily so have to take things very nice and steady with quite a few breaks so it would be nice to wander around at our own pace.

We did as they only open certain days. But ring them and explain, you never know they might be slack and have a member of staff that cold accommodate you. It’s worth a try.
