Price will depend if you get beachfront (I highly recommend you do, much better experience) or not and dates.

We had heard that also, so we took a little more precautions with leaving things about. We chained and covered things like the generator and bikes and locked up our stuff in the trailer when we were gone. Being in the middle of the city, there is more access for people to wander in and out. I did not see anyone go to the extreme of packing up the tent and saw plenty of stuff around peoples sites. Just use your common sense with things that are expensive to replace and have a great time. Hope you got a beachfront spot. Its awesome.
